More about Moore Catchment Council

The MCC aims to improve and maintain the health of the whole Moore River Catchment
MCC is currently funded by various funding programs through the Federal and State Governments, to deliver landcare programs to farmers and community.
Current and recently completed projects:
- Creating forage & breeding habitat for Carnaby's Black Cockatoo
- Rehabilitating Guilderton degraded dunes
- Working on Country opportunities with local Yued Aboriginals
- Demonstrating NyPa Forage grass
- Demonstrating efficient lime application
- Demonstrating Anemeka saltbush
- Fencing and rehabilitating Moore's natural assets - bush and river
- Ecotourism - signage and walk guides
- Candy's Bush Reserve - signage and walk trail creation
- Malleefowl habitat creation and promotion of threatened species
- Mogumber reserve walk trails and signage, Carnaby’s artificial nest
- Reviewing sustainable agriculture projects from last 10 years

The MCC's future is threatened due to cuts in environmental funding budgets through the Government. Donations welcomed to ensure NRM works continue in the Moore Catchment.
