MOOMBAKI is a small, family run winery committed to making distinctive hand-crafted wines. The vineyard was established in 1997 by David Britten and Melissa Boughey on their property which borders the pristine Kent River (between Denmark & Walpole). A gentle north-facing slope, gravelly soils, and temperate climate all work their magic on low-yielding vines.
MOOMBAKI is renowned for producing wines that are consistent high-award achievers (including a Halliday 5 star rating) and for their ecological approach to the vineyard and wetlands. Producing wines on a small scale allows them the freedom to do it well; hand-picked parcels of fruit, minimal intervention winemaking, and excellent oak handling allow the wines to express the character of their terroir.
