More about Mitch Gollan Horsemanship

Mitch first got the passion for teaching whilst working for Stanbroke Pastoral Company in Qld in 2001. Mitch was Head Stockman at the time and along side Glen West created and wrote the Stanbroke New Employee Induction Program. The program was designed to teach the new employees safe and educational facts about horses and how to implement the techniques in the paddock.

Mitch met his wife Leiza in 2005 (married in 2007 and now have 4 beautiful children). Soon after meeting, they established the horse training business: Mitch Gollan Horsemanship.

The strong family unit have spent years traveling around some of the large Qld, NT and SA Pastoral Stations starting their plain horses and conducting clinics in all levels of Horsemanship (from Basic to Advanced).
Mitch has handled and broken over 500 horses alone within the last 4 years including:
- Station bred stock horses
- Brumbies
- Quarter horses
- Warmbloods
- Arabians
- International thoroughbred race horses for the Malaysian National Stud Farm

Mitch also has a wealth of competition experience winning;
- 2008 Cloncurry Show Stockmans Challenge

Mitch conducts ongoing yearly clinics Australia wide.

He has strong beliefs in
- Doing it right from the start
- Frustration sets in when knowledge runs out
- A horse only knows what you teach it
- You should never stop learning
- Advanced horsemanship is only Basic done fast
- You should never stop learning

Mitch currently resides in Nagambie Victoria and is working on a variety of horses:
- Sales preparation for Landmark 2015
- Further education for horses destined for Polocrosse
- Campaigning horses for working stock horse classes and campdrafts
