So, a little about me...

I have 2 boys - 6yrs and 8yrs old. While pregnant with my first I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I spent the last 9 weeks of my pregnancy injecting insulin 4 times a day and when I fell pregnant again a similar situation followed, except this time I started insulin much earlier and spent over 20 weeks injecting.

It was during this time that I was informed - somewhat unceremoniously - that I would be a Type II diabetic within 8 years. Clearly, this was a prediction made based on statistics & probabilities, but I have to admit it was not news I wanted to hear.

Fast forward 7 years and I am not a diabetic yet! However, I do have a passion for health, fitness and taking control of your own situation. Six pack abs are nice, but so is living long enough to see your kids/grandkids grow up while living an energetic and healthy life.
