We are physical beings.
Our body’s are made to move! It’s only a recent role for mankind to be sitting behind a desk for 8+ hours a day. For the vast majority of our time on this planet we have been hunter gathers and craftsmen. Ever wondered why nearly everyone who spends a considerable amount of time at a desk everyday for a living eventually experiences some form of neck or back pain and postural problems? Because our bodies are not designed to be at a computer screen all day. But with the increase in technology we are finding more ways to get machines to do these jobs for us while we sit back and operate them. The best way to adapt to these changes is to invest some time everyday getting in touch with what your body is designed to do. Build a strong foundation of muscles to support your spine and joints when you’re sitting down all day. Do something that has you physically grasping for air so that your heart and repertory system stays strong and healthy. And stretch everyday! Otherwise be prepared to invest allot of money into physios, Chiros and osteos to do it for you after 20 years of slouching over a desk takes it irreversible tole on you.
I’m not saying that you have to be “shredded” or an Olympic athlete to be successful and enjoy life. I’m saying that if you invest some time into moving and performing better physically everyday or at least 3 times a week, you’ll feel better! And when you feel better that’s when your moments of high performance in life and work shine the most! Not all exercise has to be done in a gym or on a treadmill.
