We entered the of-road camper market in 2009 with the first import of a Conqueror Commander into Australia, for which we became the official agents. Many lessons were learnt during this time, including the effect of coastal conditions on mild steel and that 3CR12 stainless steel is the way to go for strength, weight reduction and rust resistance.

After meeting Heinz at the Metalian factory in October 2012, we formed Metalian Australia as the sole agent for Australia. Other regional representatives has since been added, such as West Oz Camper Trailers in Perth.

Specific enhancements for the Australian market commenced, with ongoing refinement and testing. Three years later the first Australian spec Metalians arrived over here - and can match or exceed the best that the competition can offer. They are fully constructed at Heinz's factory in South Africa from 3CR12 stainless steel - eliminating the brittle characteristics of other higher spec stainless steels. The seams on every panel is folded, bolted to ensure perfect alignment, sealed and puddle welded. There are no rivets used in the construction, apart from attaching some cover plates.

The true monocoque design produces the largest storage capacity from any camper of the same dimensions. Combined with the weight reduction possible due to the use of 3CR12 steel and Australain off-road components from AlKo and Vehicle Components, we are confident that the Metalian can match the best the competition can offer - at a much lower price.
