Growing up for most of his life in the small country town of Galong, New South Wales, Darren Mellross started his carpentry apprenticeship under his father – local Master Builder Terry Mellross. After completing his apprenticeship Darren applied for and was granted a restricted builder license which saw him build numerous new dwellings and renovations in the area with high appraisals. Following this he completed his clerk of works and became a fully licensed builder. In 1979 Darren’s eagerness and determination saw him found his own business – Mellross Homes.

We are proud to say we are still a family owned and operated business, and as a whole share this eagerness and determination.

Since this time we have grown to become one of the largest family owned home builders in the area, building thousands of homes across New South Wales and gaining a large network of partners, suppliers and contractors to give the buyer the best price, but more importantly a great quality home.

On the larger scale of the business we have undertaken many works over the years ranging from building retirement villages, unit complexes, classrooms and facilities for both Government and private Schools, Childcare/Healthcare Centres and bulky goods premises (and shop fit outs) for national franchises. Complimenting the construction side of the business we have also headed the development of a large number of sub-divisions throughout the region, enabling us to offer great value Home and Land Packages to all of our clients.
