Melbourne Waverley Netball Club

Melbourne Waverley Netball Club is an incorporated association with the primary purpose of promoting participation in netball at the highest level possible for its playing members.

We are one of Australia’s oldest netball clubs, being originally named Melbourne and founded in 1932. In 1994, the club merged with the Waverley State League Club to become Melbourne Waverley Netball Club.

We have a proud history of success in the Waverley Night Netball Association Competition, which is played at Waverley Netball Center Complex. From 2018 onwards, Melbourne Waverley Netball Club will also be entering teams into various Association and Club netball tournaments which are usually played on a Sunday at locations all around Victoria.

Prospective netball players wishing to become playing members must be selected into one of our playing squads by our panel of selectors. Selection is based on netball ability and performance and is usually achieved by participating in our annual trials held in October of each year, but may also be achieved during the year if vacancies arise, through the demonstration of netball ability in other games (e.g. Saturday club competitions) or through an invitation to train with us.

The Club trains at the Gloria Pyke Netball Complex at the Dandenong Showgrounds.
