Medicine Buddha Healing Center

The Venerable Lobsang Tendar is the director of our center, who was born in the Kham district, Eastern Tibet and has studied at Gyuto Ramoche Monastry for seven years and at the Gyuto Tantric University in India for 14 years. Here he achieved 1st division in specialization on all subjects pertaining to tantra discipline, the highest degree offered by the university.

Lama Tendar resides in Melbourne and established Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Meditation Center and Tibetan Children’s Fund. He also travels across Australia teaching Dharma, sacred arts, chanting, and performing sacred rituals, blessings and empowerments.
Lama Tendar runs regular retreats and makes sand mandalas in community cultural programs across Australia. He utilizes Medicine Buddha blessings for healing. Lama Tendar also offers Buddhist consultation for people suffering mental and emotional agitation. He teaches compassion and wisdom through regular meditation sessions and retreats that provide mind training for people to gain inner peace.

Buddhist counseling, healing and blessings- wedding, house and businesses, funeral blessings, Powa and the Bardo prayers for the deceased are available. Bookings are essential.

Pilgrimage tours to India, Nepal and Tibet and retreats in Australia are run regularly throughout the year.

Mandala and Dharma classes are also available.

Regular meditation classes are held on Friday nights at Frankston and Monday nights at Beaumaris center.

ABOUT MEDICINE BUDDHA

Medicine Buddha is the supreme physician and is founded upon the legend of a metaphysical Bodhisattva, the medicine king (Bheshajaraja) who is the dispenser of spiritual medicine. When positive or joyous feelings and attitudes pass through each organ and circulate through our whole systems, our physical and chemical energies are transformed and balanced. Even more important than the capability of mantra that heals the body, it also heals the mind. The mantra gently opens and transforms emotional states, helping us to deal with any situation clearly and directly. It promotes peace, calm and tranquility in our heart. The happiness one experience is transmitted to others, thus one benefit them as well. One of the best healing meditations is that on the Medicine Buddha, who is the manifestation of the healing energies of all enlightened beings.
