We are a chef and a vet in the central highlands of Victoria who are passionate about good food and animal welfare. Our aim is to provide you with a service that maximises flavour through minimising stress on your animals.



OUR SERVICES
Phil (Vet) and Christopher (Chef) of Meat at Yours provide a slaughter and butchery service to suit your needs, on your property. Processing your livestock on the property it was raised has many benefits for both the quality of your product, and importantly the welfare of the animal. By slaughtering on-farm we can eliminate the stress of transportation, yarding and entering an abattoir which your animal might otherwise undergo. When an animal is stressed prior to slaughter, mainly during transport, yarding and handling at the abattoir, their muscle glycogen levels drop, causing their pH level to increase, resulting in tougher, darker meat that is at greater risk of spoilage. Our on-farm slaughter service gives you the reassurance of knowing exactly what you are getting and provides you a with a better quality product in the end.

Phil and Christopher will bring their mobile coolroom to your property, they will then quickly and calmly slaughter the animal in its own environment before evisceration and hanging. Once the animal is dressed, it will hang in the coolroom for a number of days, Phil and Christopher will then return to your property to butcher and package the meat to your specifications. We are able to provide you with all varieties of cuts, roasts, sausages as well as recipes to enable you to make the most of your meats for a full nose to tail eating experience. In order to make this happen all you need to supply is access to water and power.


SERVICE AREA
Meat at Yours is based in Evansford which is north of Lexton in the Central Highlands region of Victoria. We service a 100km radius from Evansford, this encompasses the area from Ararat to Bendigo through to Ballarat.


COST
We offer a service tailored to your needs, therefore costs vary from job to job. Please see prices below as a guide to the cost of killing, butchering and packaging your livestock and contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Cattle – $400 (under 500kg)
Sheep – Lamb $35 / Two-Tooth $45 (minimum 6)
Goat – $35 (minimum 6)
Pig – $135 (minimum 2)

Travel over 50km from Evansford will be charged at $1 per k/m.
