Matee Turkish Grill

Matee meaning favourite aunty in Kurdish is my salute to the many aunties in my family who brought me up and nourished me with love, acceptance, a love for cinema and of course the most delicious foods from the Anatolian region of Turkey. The culturally rich and exotic region of Anatolia diverse with its Kurds, Greeks, and Armenians, who carried their secrets of timeless traditions along with recipes handed down from their generations before. When they migrated to Australia with their hopes, dreams they kept them alive and sustained their young with ways of old. This is my story, this is ebedded with the great wealth of my childhood.
