The trouble is, most writers and speakers don’t really understand what persistence is. They assume that it is a product of willpower. But willpower is actually not very powerful, especially when it’s comes into conflict with powerful subconscious forces. Just ask any dieter confronted by their favourite dessert.

You do have other forces that can overpower these subconscious forces but conscious willpower ain’t one of them. If you want to become successful in your life, you need to align with these forces and use their energy to create what you want.
