THE MASANI PHILOSOPHY

The Masani philosophy is simple – local, fresh and seasonal produce and artisan crafted cooking. Richard, Luciana and Kara are inspired by their roots (Italy) and their country (Australia). Like Italy’s regions, our cuisine is diverse and unique.

Masani is a locale where tradition, the classic and the new become one. The artisan craft that is Italian cuisine is how Masani was established in 1983 and how we continue as restaurateurs today. Salute.

WINE: FROM THE MASANI CELLAR

Vino, vin, wein, wine. Kara is the quaffing/cellar master or technically the Sommelier. Masani’s wine list offers a grand selection from Victoria, Australia, Italy, France, Germany and beyond. There is a mahogany wine library above the bar & mezzanine cellars which hold aged, and rare wines.

“I savour, source, sample & enjoy wines regularly. I am always in search of different varietals from the old world and the new world. I love great wines, established wines, boutique wines and new wines. It’s my passion and it’s stuck with me….so just ask and I’ll be happy to suggest something. I have chosen every wine personally.”

Kara specializes in the Masani cellar and all aspects of wine service. She is a regular at wine testing’s and master classes, and is passionate about sourcing new and upcoming varietals, wineries and liqueurs. Kara is assisted by Chef Richard for pairing and matching wines to the Masani menu. See Kara’s wine journal.
