More about Maple Leaf Performance

Ask us about our 3 weekly running sessions!

Maple Leaf Performance was created to promote athlete performance. We want individuals to achieve their potential in every aspect of sport.

Our Mission
“To provide support and resources to athletes to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to be successful in all aspects of sport.”
Maple Leaf Performance has a philosophy that is driven by “quality” training rather than “quantity”. This approach is effective in preventing repetitive stress injuries and maximising success. If you want to run fast, you have to train fast! Speed and interval training is the best way to get results.

Our Vision
- To provide education for athletes about the 4 pillars of healthy performance:
o Physical
o Nutritional
o Mental
o Social
- To provide athletes with resources and tools that will allow them to maximise their performance
- To connect athletes with professionals that can help meet individualise needs

MLP delivers multiple running training sessions every week that meet the need of a broad range of individuals – from middle- and long-distance runners to surf life saving competitors, triathletes, soccer players and athletes from a variety of other sports. With more than 10 years of competitive running and coaching experience, our training is based on “quality over quantity”. We train athletes to maximise their performance while preventing injury and staying healthy.

We offer seminars on health and sports nutrition. The most up-to-date research and scientific evidence guides the information we provide at our events. With MLP, athletes have access to Health Care Professionals and credible resources to maximise their success.

Maple Leaf Performance is owned and operated by current 2-time World Lifesaving 2km Beach Run Champion Jordan Andersen, PhD Candidate in Sport Biomechanics. With more than 10 years of competitive running experience, Jordan has developed a thorough understanding of how to train effectively to maximise performance while preventing injury and staying healthy. He competed at the university level in Canada and was a nationally ranked cross-country runner. He has raced in athletics since 2003 in distances from 800m to 3000m.

Jordan completed his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology – the study of human movement – from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He is an accredited coach with Athletics Australia. Through his research, he has co-authored 11 scientific journal articles that investigated strategies for injury prevention, rehabilitation and athlete performance. With over 6 years of clinical experience, he has combined scientific techniques with clinical practice to help advance treatments for sport-related injuries. Jordan has over 9 years of experience coaching a variety of sports, specialising in running and pool and surf life saving.
