Makin Trax Base Camp

The Makin Trax Base Camp is a standalone mountain lodge located in the heart of Thredbo (the original Woodridge area). Our lodge is an extension of our work at Makin Trax, a company that creates extraordinary results in natural environments. We love the outdoors and the idea of experiencing Australia’s alpine environment in all seasons and for all sports, whether it be skiing, biking or hiking (or simply resting). With this in mind, we have established our base camp at the foot of Mount Kosciusko and in Thredbo, the cultural heart of the Kosciusko National Park.

We believe that the Kosciusko National Park is Australia’s most extraordinary natural environment. Whether you are skiing in winter from the highest points and on the best and longest trails in Australia, biking on the newest and highest mountain tracks in Australia, or wanting to hike to the top of Australia’s highest point, Makin Trax Base Camp is the place to stay to prepare yourself for the tasks ahead and to come home and rest and recuperate after conquering the mountain.

When you stay at the Makin Trax Base Camp you will feel like you are at one with the natural environment, while also having all the necessary comforts and essentials. In the coming months we are upgrading the interior to ensure that our base camp feels like an alpine lodge that provides you with the convenience of stepping straight out onto the foot of the mountain and also additional facilities such as lockable bike rooms and cleaning areas.
