ALL ABOUT MACEDON RANGES WORKING EQUITATION – RALLY DATES, MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION… THE WORKS!

Macedon Ranges Working Equitation (MRWE) is a horse riding club based in central Victoria, 8km from Lancefield.

We are proudly affiliated with the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV), Equestrian Victoria (EV) and Australian National Working Equitation - Vic (ANWE Vic).

We are a small club and pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our members range from beginners to advanced riders who are looking to improve their riding and relationship with their horses, and looking for an activity that’s a little different!

ABOUT WORKING EQUITATION

MRWE rallies are based on Working Equitation, a fascinating and fun equestrian sport designed to promote classical riding principles and to showcase the working riding culture of different countries.

Working Equitation is a fun way to train seriously. It involves both flat work and obstacles similar to those encountered whilst working on a property. Training this way gives purpose to dressage - it makes more sense to the horses and it's fun for the rider!

Working Equitation is now well established as an international sport in 19 countries. It is overseen by the World Association for Working Equitation (WAWE), which governs the annual World Championship events.

MRWE hosts two rallies per month, typically on the second Wednesday and the fourth Sunday of the month. Our remaining rally dates for 2017 are:

Private or group lessons are available. Lesson costs vary depending on the instructor in attendance.

INSTRUCTORS

We have been very lucky to have access to a number of outstanding instructors at our rallies during 2017. These instructors include:

Susie Walker - EA coach, ANWE accredited judge of working equitation and classical riding teacher. Student with Philippe Karl's Ecole de Légèreté (the School of Lightness).

Sharryn Jenkinson - ANWE accredited judge of Working Equitation, HRC-Level 4 Instructor (General), HRC-Level 1 Instructor in Trail Riding and HRC-Level 1 Instructor in Riding for the Disabled.

Felicity Yuncken – Felicity is an EA NCAS Level 1 General and EA NCOS Dressage Judge A, up to and including Grand Prix. She has been coaching for 40 years and judging for 35 years.

Kylie Calderwood – Advanced EA dressage rider, HRCAV and Pony Club trainer and judge for over 20 years.

Jason McInness - Throughout his career, Jason has studied the teachings of Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, John Lyons, Josh Lyons, Pat Parelli, Philippe Karl and Martin Black. He is a trainee instructor with Phillipe Karl’s Ecole de Légèreté (School of Lightness) and runs his own training facility, providing riding and horsemanship lessons, young horse handling and retraining sessions for problem horses.

FACILITIES

Our rallies are held at El Castillo Equestrian Centre, 1200 Lancefield-Kilmore Road, Springfield (approximately 8 minutes from Lancefield).

El Castillo is a fantastic facility with a full size indoor arena, huge carpark and clinic yards for horses. All lessons are held in the indoor arena.

A full Riding Membership with MRWE is $195 per year. If you are already a member of HRCAV and would like to become an Associate Member with MRWE, the cost is $70 per year.
