It’s a nice find. Tucked away at the Yarra’s Edge, on the Port Melbourne side of Docklands,That’s - The Loading Dock, and not only is it a welcome surprise, it's international love of food within a cosy, casual and completely attitude-free eatery is superb.
Melbournians can experience culinary diversity and far-flung influences any time of day. The Loading Dock serves up lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Breakfast, also, on the weekends minus attitude and inflated prices.
The menu is best described as modern Australian with excellent thin-crust pizzas, burgers from the grill and an abundance of fresh seafood and a to die for authentic curry.
And while Melbourne weather and water can’t exaclty compete the Negril sands, you can get a step closer with the restaurant’s north-facing, sun-soaked outside tables, plus bobbing boats jostling mere steps away on the marina. The warming weather should help with the effect.
So melt into the large, comfortable couch seating, soak up the sweeping city views, and as you devour that famous burger, imagine yourself anywhere in the world and listen to some wicked tunes.. Possibly.
