What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is not about art as we know it. Art therapy
is the use of different art materials through which a
client can express and work through issues, problems
and concerns that they have brought to therapy.
For many clients it is easier to use a non-verbal form
of communication to make sense of their own experiences.
The basis of this therapy is not about the art produced
its about the process of creating it.

What is an Art Therapist?
An art therapists role is to help people explore and
express themselves authentically through art making.
Through this process people may find relief from
overwhelming emotions, crises or trauma. The therapist
is not there to judge or direct the art process but to
encourage the client to find their own meaning in the art.

Who is suitable...
Art therapy is suitable for the young, old and everyone
in between! It is based on the belief that the creative
process is healing and we all have the ability to be creative.
