I am an individual, couple and family therapist who is passionate about assisting people to develop healthy and fulfilling relationships. I have a degree in Social Work from the University of Western Australia as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Italian Language and Literature. I am also a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
I have a warm and respectful approach with an emphasis on providing a safe, supportive and non judgemental environment for clients to explore their concerns. I believe that the quality of the relationship and connection between myself and my clients is one of the most important elements of the therapeutic process. I am skilled at assisting clients to increase awareness of their thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and in exploring with them the way these affect the experiences, perspectives and choices they make in their lives. By recognising patterns and increasing awareness, clients are better able to move forward and make decisions and choices which lead to more satisfying and fulfilled lives.
My counselling experience is extensive and varied. Since March 2000 I have worked in various settings, and have assisted clients with issues including couple conflict, domestic violence, separation, divorce, parenting, depression, anxiety, self- esteem, communication and past sexual abuse. I am married with two young children which, has given me a personal appreciation for the significant physical, emotional and social upheavals associated with being a parent.
