Lindsay Campbell Landscape Services provides a landscape design service & management of the construction phase. The work includes many existing residential projects as well as large scale projects including, some of Hobart’s best known Retirement Villages & Nursing Homes.
The guiding principles of Lindsay's designs are that they provide an harmonious, inviting, comfortable, safe & practical living & working environment. The concentration on design principles (organisation of effective space in particular) combined with extensive plant knowledge, allows a wide variety of styles to suit the client's character. Project styles completed include Heritage, Modern, Rural, Tasmanian native gardens as well as many environmentally sensitive projects (Including the Sustainability Learning Centre).

Lindsay is assisted by Laura Fergusson who provides both Garden Design support & skills in Computer Aided Drawing.

The general services provided are :

• Landscape sketch plans
• Concept plans
• Final & working plans including plant placement & all construction details in CAD format.
• Project costing
• Project guidance at the construction phase
• Advice on garden maintenance after the construction phase is complete.

Qualifications & experience :

1977 Completed Certificate of Horticulture (Landscape Design stream) Ryde School of Horticulture / Sydney
1979 Employed at Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens
1980 –1989 Lindsay Campbell Landscape Design & Construction. This business carried out both major & minor landscape design & construction.
1989-1999 Full time teacher at TAFE Horticulture in Hobart. I was responsible for Landscape Design & Construction subjects as well as teaching plant identification.
1990 Completed a Diploma in Teaching at the University of Tasmania
1995 Completed the Associate Diploma of Horticulture at Hobart TAFE.
1999 Established Lindsay Campbell Landscape Services.

Works I have designed & implemented (1999 – 2013) include :

Vaucluse Gardens Nursing Home, (responsible for 11 years of design work which is approximately 90% of the existing landscape)
Morrison Breytenbach Architects work inc. : The Big Picture School Moonah, Balamara housing project & Brisbane ST Housing (Tasmanian Housing Dept.), Chigwell & Derwent Valley Community & Family Centres.
The Welcome Sky Garden & planter upgrades at 188 Collins St (The Government Building),
Glenview Nursing Home - the Betty Mather interactive garden for residents with dementia.
Involved in the design & implementation of the Valley St Demonstration garden for the Hobart City Council
Strathglen, Strathhaven & Lillian Martin Nursing Homes Courtyard upgrades
Queenborough Rise Retirement Village, (CDA Architects)
Nexus, interactive garden for the disabled at Granton & five of their residential group home gardens.
Roche’s Beach Living Retirement Village
Corumbene Dementia Ward Activities Courtyard (New Norfolk). (CDA)
