More about Lindisfarne Primary School

Lindisfarne Primary School is located in a beautiful, spacious setting which provides a fine environment in which children can learn, play, grow and realise their potential. Major development of the grounds has provided a range of active and passive play areas for all ages.

The size of our school, about 350 pupils, allows us to maintain a family atmosphere, while aiming to provide the best range of resources and services. We function as one school, from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and aim to provide a challenging, interesting and attractive learning environment where children can live and work happily together. Children have the opportunity for quality learning and the achievement of personal excellence. Special programs are offered in IT and Music. All children have access to computer equipment in their class.

The original school was constructed in the mid 1950’s. Major redevelopment of all classrooms and the administration area occurred during 1999. Classrooms are spacious, have access to wet areas, and are linked to a computer network. During 2002 a new General Purpose Room was built. This gives the school an area for Assemblies and indoor Physical Education classes. It is also the base for the Outside School Hours Care Service. This is run by the Clarence Council and is available each afternoon for children from 4 years of age.

Throughout 2006 and 2007 the school benefited from grants from the Federal Government Investing In Our Schools Program. The grants allowed us to upgrade playground equipment, refurbish our library and install heat pumps in all classrooms.

Staff provide a caring and supportive environment where all members of the school community are valued. The partnership that teachers share with parents in the education of their children is seen as vital.
