When Leithen Valley Trophy Hunts - New Zealand expanded its operation to include trophy hunting in Australia, all the experience, knowledge and commitment gathered over many years were invested into a unique and privately-owned 360,000 acre hunting property in the Northern Territory. Approximately two and a half hours east of Katherine in the remote and untouched Australian Outback a large number of water buffalo, scrub bull and wild boar roam our private hunting area. Ever since Leithen Valley Trophy Hunts started outfitting in Australia, many great trophies have been taken here.

Our hunting season runs from the beginning of June to the end of August in our dry season. Management hunts can be arranged later on in the year as well. Flights from the USA will arrive into Sydney or Brisbane and from there you will fly up to Darwin, Northern Territory, which is the arrival point for our hunts. Depending on your arrival time in Darwin, you might need a hotel room for the night, which we will arrange for you.

After we pick you up in Darwin, we will travel down to our private hunting lodge that offers very comfortable rooms with en-suite private bathrooms and all the comforts of home. Alternatively, you can choose to experience a true outback camp where you fall asleep at night looking up at the amazing southern sky while listening to the sounds of the bush. Charter flights to our lodge can be arranged at additional cost.

Firearms permits will be emailed to you or given to you at one of the shows. This is very important and a critical part of hunting in Australia's Northern Territory as firearms regulations are strict. Nevertheless, it is an easy process if you fill out the forms correctly; particularly the correct serial number of your firearm, but it needs to be done at least 3 months prior to your hunt. This gives us enough time to handle all the paperwork and return the license to you. If you do not wish to bring your own firearm, we have several different calibers you can use, but you still need to apply for an Australian Firearm License.

A tourist visa is required as well and can be easily obtained online within 15 minutes. This so called eVisitors visa needs to be applied for before you travel to Australia! (Go to www.immi.gov.au and then click on eVisitor).
