Caring for families ...

Legacy cares for the dependants of those who served their country; namely, veterans who died on operational service or subsequently, and ADF personnel who died as a result of their service.

It currently cares for some 120,000 widows and 1,900 children and adults with disabilities. While many of these dependants are older widows, increasingly Legacy is caring for those widowed from more recent conflicts including Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Legacy provides a range of programs and assistance aimed at helping families to live rich and meaningful lives. From assistance during bereavement to support through old age, Legacy is there to help.

advocacy;
- financial hardship relief for those in need;
- assistance with home safety and security
measures;
- health and ageing advice;
- fellowship and social activities;
- educational support and developmental
- opportunities for children; and
- outreach programs for the disabled.
