You probably haven’t heard much about LDV before. Even though we’re part of SAIC, only the biggest auto manufacturer in China – we’re a pretty new name here in Australia. But that’s ok. We’re more than ready to prove ourselves. But first, we’re going to get you across who we are and what we do best. And that is making damn fine cars that are easy on your bank account.

The SAIC group? Not only are we a Fortune Global 500 company - we’re actually the 46th biggest company in the world1 - we’ve also been around since the 1940s. LDV became part of the SAIC group back in 2010 when we acquired the commercial division of the British Motor Corporation, and LDV can be traced way back to the 1890s. That’s a lot of vehicles we’ve made, sold, and seen drive out the door. Basically – it’s safe to say we know our stuff when it comes to cars. But just to be overachievers, we also manufactured over 6 million vehicles just last year. Oh, and in 2015 came 10th on Forbes magazine’s list of the largest auto companies in the world.

We’ve also made products that have been sold under some of the most recognisable car names in the world – think Buick, Chevrolet, Iveco, Skoda, Volkswagen and Wuling, via our joint ventures with General Motors and Volkswagen. It’s pretty safe to say we know what we’re talking about when it comes to cars.

Just because we’re new to Australia, doesn’t mean we’re new to the world. LDV is one of Europe’s most recognised names when it comes to commercial vehicles. Even the British Government love us – we were once the vehicle of choice for the Royal Mail. Fancy, huh?

Why are we trying to convince you we’re a fantastic company? Well, we’re taking all that global success and bringing it Down Under. We’re developing vehicles for pretty much everyone – whether you’re a business owner, or looking to upgrade to a family vehicle that will carry the kids and all their mates to the footy.

Plus, we’re always innovating, so you know you’re getting a great product. After all, you don’t become one of the largest auto companies in the world without doing something right. In 2012 SAIC made its first all-electric vehicle, and we’re well on our way for a plug-in hybrid down the track. So you know a car you buy from us is going to have all the tech and know-how in it.
