The Institute aims to introduce meditation and Buddhist practice to Tasmanians. It is now scientifically proven that meditation and mindfulness greatly benefit mental capacity, wellbeing, resilience and relieving stress. These methods are taught at the Institute by a fully qualified and ordained Tibetan Lama, who speaks English.
The Kagyu lineage is one of the four main traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. "Kagyu" roughly means the unbroken lineage of profound and intimate guidance in the four types of transmitted mastery, the heart meaning of the three spiritual journey's.
The lineage of the Kagyu emphasises the continuity of oral instructions passed on from master to student.
