How did it start….

When starting Ladybug candles we wanted a candle that was long-lasting and made from renewable sources. We loved buying the candles you can get anywhere including the supermarket chains however you never know what is in it.

We made a decision not to use cheaper soy waxes that may not be made from 100% natural soy. There was also consideration into using Palm oil however found that its farming was not often renewable and could have a negative impact on 3rd would communities.

So why Soy Wax….

Soy wax is completely natural and renewable. While global reserve of oil shrink and paraffin prices increase, the only limit to the soy supply is how much we choose to grow.

Paraffin candles can release chemical pollutants in to the air when burning, these may lead to health risks such as allergies and asthma.

Soy is pure, clean and sustainable, in addition to sustainability, a well-made soy candle will burn cleanly and slowly. While the performance and beauty of soy candles speak for themselves.

Pure clean wax, crisp and clean burning & toxic free
Non-petroleum based, renewable resource unlike paraffin
They burn evenly, leaving almost no excess wax on the sides of the jar.
Are non-toxic since they are made of vegetable oil
Have a lower meting point
Produces negligible amounts of soot
Release no carcinogens or pollutants into the air – this means that its less likely to trigger allergies.
The scent from soy candles is much stronger and more pleasant
Biodegradable and water soluble – our candles are made out of soybeans, they are naturally biodegradable which makes accidental spills easier to clean, just use soap and water
Our soy wax is Kosher certified, not tested on animals, no animal products, no palm wax, no petroleum, paraffin or beeswax, no pesticides and no herbicides, no toxic materials, no genetically modified materials
We only use high quality scents and dyes
No lead or zinc cored wicks ever – all of our wicks are made of cotton
