Kybong Rock Fest

Kybong Rock Fest is held at Tourist Destination "Cooloola Rocks & Minerals" which alreay has an amazing collection of Gemstones, Rocks & Minerals displayed, and for sale, a café & camping facilities open to the public. FREE entry, Kybong Rock Fest is a yearly event held in August 2013 on Friday2nd, Saturday3rd & Sunday 4th, anually (the first week end of August). The Festival is open for Business from around 8.30am - 4.30pm each day. Our hosts are John & Cecile Steenbergen who are both Keen Rock Hounds & Collectors, although Cecile is more art oriented, as you will see in the shop itself with displays of her paintings on canvass. It is a great 3 day fun filled Festival with a family atmosphere. Stall holders from all over Australlia come to display, demonstrate & sell their collections of beautiful Crystals, Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, Gemstone Jewellery and catch up with their fellow travellers. For fans of the New Age, you will aslo find Crystal Healers, and Healing Tools, Crystal & Tibetan Bowls, Aura Photography, Psychic Readers. There is Live Music provided by "Milly's Vibe" catering for different styles of music, covers & original,pop, rock, country, ballads, instrumental with violin, guitar & paino. Live Entertainment, with performances from Dance Groups such as the Gold Dust Rockers, Tribal Essence Belly Dancers from Focus on Dance Jazz Ballet Group, Kahuna Mist Freestyle Dancers, Yoga & Qi Gong classes to join in with. This year there will be Cat's Claw Lantern Making workshops (mainly for Adults, but kids are welcome) & Cat's Claw Dream Catcher workshops, on the Friday & the Saturday (call Cecile to make a booking to ). This year also there will be a special event put on for the kids on the Saturday.... "Animal Qi Gong" which is basically a fun way to do some animal exercises, which are surprisingly good for your health. the Lovely Antisk will be also teaching the children about the importance of water, this event will be a true delight to the littlies!!! All are welcome to participate and get your favourite animal faces painted on, dress up ready for the Festival theme this year of Fairies, Magic & the Animal Kindom!...big kids too are welcome to join in with the fun! Our lovely Fariy face painting team lead by Tina the Fairy will be there to paint your faces, so save up your coins, and think about what you are going to wear!!! There is plenty for the kids to do, learn how to Gold panning, getting your hands in the sand, who knows what you will discover buried there, swishing your pan in the water & see what you can find!! , other kids activities & craft, talking to all the very interesting & knowledgeable stall holders about their stories about the rocks, don't forget to have a look at the Rock shop Itself, it has an amazing collection of Rocks & Minerals & Crystals on display & for sale!!! There are always plenty of market stalls selling crafts, gifts, some produce. You are very welcome to camp for the night or whole event, BYO camping gear/caravan & let John & Cecile know that you are going to stay over ....they can give you the run down on where the hot showers are, times that evening meal orders need to be in if you are eating there, site fees, available spots, although there is plenty of space to camp. There is a communal campfire every night, so bring your chairs, your rugs & Ugg Boots, your yarns, poetry, songs voices & musical instruments for the evening! It is usually still quite cold then so come prepared & rug up!!! Don't forget to mark these dates down on your calendar!!! & see you there!!!
