KOTB PERFORMANCE ACADEMY realises that each child possesses different strengths and weaknesses as diversity within classes is very important to us. Allowing students to casually participate in classes for the enjoyment and social aspect of dance and fitness, whilst catering for more serious dancers that are focused on training and discipline, KOTB is able to provide every student with the training they need.

Among our goals is to inspire all students to learn skills and habits that will not only improve their craft but also show commitment and dedication, important valuable assets and life skills for every child’s growth and development.

With a committed eisteddfod team (E-Team) participating in numerous eisteddfods and performances throughout the year, KOTB educates students about the dance industry with our highly trained teachers who have extensive careers and teaching backgrounds and are passionate about offering their knowledge and expertise to build every child’s confidence and performance skills.

We also encourage students to perform with their hearts to truly love and appreciate the stage. KOTB dancers should strive towards the love of performance rather than the rewards that it can bring. Students should always concentrate on performing for their own gain rather than for worldly gain. It is vital that all students have respect for teachers, the studios, and their fellow classmates. Being part of a group builds lifelong team skills and it is important that each team member does not view themselves as more valuable than any other student as we do not support competition within our team.

We will strive to ensure that our classrooms reflect an atmosphere of acceptance and excitement. Therefore, mistakes can happen, expected even, and are accepted. Dance students can excel and achieve and be very successful when they believe in themselves. It is our goal to instil this drive, this love of performance in every student. Performing is both fun and challenging. In other words, we have fun and a laugh together but we also work extremely hard and our students are asked to give 100% in every class and always with a positive attitude.

Solo tuition is also offered by specialised teachers of each discipline to students currently enrolled in group classes for the purpose of one-on-one training to accelerate progress and/or eisteddfod competition.

Concluding each year, KOTB holds an end-of-year concert at the Gold Coast Arts Centre which provides an opportunity for every student to perform on stage and present their talents to the school community, family and friends.

Child and parent satisfaction is important to us as all staff use their potential to make class time as enjoyable and productive as possible.
