Kalgoorlie Boulder Business Development Centre - KBBDC

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Business Development Centre was launched in 2002 as an “incubator” to assist small businesses in the Goldfields.

The KBBDC is a proudly self-sustaining, not-for-profit organisation that has helped almost 60 businesses become established during the past 14 years.

Small business operators can rent a professional suite or commercial unit for up to two years. The key to the Centre's ongoing success as a business incubator lies in good communication with tenants and the flexible tenancy agreements which involve no locked-in contracts or penalties and allow for month-by-month rental payments.

The initial planning for the Centre began in 1998 when a need was identified for a facility to enable small businesses to start up or for home-based firms to take the next step and move out of the spare bedroom or backyard.

Local community leader Esther Roadnight initially chaired the steering committee which secured government funding for the construction of the Centre and negotiated with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder for a suitable site.

in a secure, professional, flexible and collaborative environment.

Tenants at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Business Development Centre have the best business assistance of all – each other.
Tenants operate in an informal, collaborative environment, meeting for coffee in the Centre’s kitchen to exchange information, learn from each other’s experience – and even become each other’s customers.

Not only are they able to build good business relationships, tenants can use the conference facilities, kitchen and barbecue area and take advantage of the Centre’s collective marketing plan.

Need to hold a meeting in a professional environment away from your home or backyard? The small meeting room is available to non-tenant businesses at half day and full day rates.

Need a professional venue for a board meeting or seminar? The conference room, including access to kitchen and barbecue area, are available on a full or half day basis.

Rates (8:30am-5:00pm):
Small Meeting Room – $110 full day; $55 half day
Conference Centre – $220 full day; $110 half day
Additional costs apply if the rooms are required outside the above times.
