Kashiri Bags & Accessories Australia

Kashiri means “moon” and comes from the Arawakan language family spoken by the indigenous people who live in northwestern Venezuela and northeastern Colombia on the Guajira Peninsula.

Based in Sydney Australia, Kashiri was founded in 2015 with the vision to bring great quality, uniquely styled, and colourful bags, wallets and accessories to the Australian people. We created this website to offer our customers the opportunity to order our products online and we offer express postal services Australia wide. Our product range feature unique leather bags and with hand made stitched art pattern called Mola (which means blouse or clothing), made by the Guna people from the Panama and Colombia region. A Mola is made by layering a number of fabric pieces and stitching and cutting them to make the designs. This can take from two weeks to six months to make, depending on the complexity of the design.

We also stock products from the Wayuu culture. The Wayuu are a group of indigenous people who live in La Guarjira Peninsula in nothern Colombia. Each bag is hand woven by one woman and with her own personal style. As each design of both the Mola and Wayuu products is hand made with the personal style of the creator, each and every item we sell is completely a one-off so it can be unique and special to you!

Our leather products are assembled in Colombia with the Mola and Wayuu products being purchased from the indigenous people for which we are proud to support their unique craftmanship and culture.
