Mr Kareem Marwan is a consultant general surgeon with subspecialty in colorectal (lower gastrointestinal) surgery. His practice is largely minimally invasive (laparoscopic or keyhole) when appropriate. He also has a keen interest in endoscopy and general paediatric surgery.
Mr Marwan has a public appointment in Eastern Health Hospitals and a specialist surgical practice based at Knox private hospital.
Mr. Marwan obtained his Australasian fellowship in Surgery in February 2012
after training at St Vincent’s, the Alfred and Monash Medical Centre.
He then spent 18 months in Colchester, UK where he undertook a fellowship
followed by consultant post in colorectal and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Colchester hospital is a leading centre in keyhole and bowel surgery.
Prior to General surgical training, Kareem completed advanced paediatric surgery
training in Paris, France (2000).
