Kangaroo Ground

Kangaroo Ground is a town in Victoria, Australia, 26 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government area is the Shire of Nillumbik. It was built as a World War I memorial, and is now used to monitor bushfires during the bushfire season. The grounds around the tower feature a pine sapling planted on 11 November 2005; it was taken from the original Lone Pine growing on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey.
