In 1956 the local store keeper Mr Bill Jennings was keen to establish a Progress Association for Kangarilla. With the assistance of a loyal band of helpers their first function, a Mock Deb Ball, was held. The grand sum of 28 pounds was raised. Over the following 20 years the Community banded together and many successful fundraising activities were held. A couple of astute business decisions in respect to the buying and selling of land were made and eventually, sufficient funds were accumulated to finance the building of a 'Community Hall'.
The official opening of the Kangarilla Community Hall was conducted on March 12, 1977.
The Kangarilla community Hall continues to be managed by the Kangarilla Progress Association. Inc.
The Kangarilla Community is still served well by this wonderful hall and is available for hire for almost any occasion.
