More about Kalamunda History Village / Kalamunda and Districts Historical Society

The Kalamunda History Village, managed by the Kalamunda and Districts Historical Society, gives an unique insight into the economic, social and domestic histories of the area, focusing particularly on the era of timber and orchard industries. In addition to two original railway station buildings and platform (listed on the National Trust List of Heritage Places), the site is now home to a number of heritage buildings relocated from within the Kalamunda district. The Village contains a post office; school; 1895 workers cottage; 1920s guesthouse; blacksmith's workshop; orchard shed with working fruit grader; outdoor 'dunny', washing line and windmill; a whim; displays of horse-drawn and motor vehicles house in a purpose-built facility; and a Locomotive G118. This is a place in which history truly comes to life.
