Specialising in pre-teens and adolescents Judy has a Master of Mental Health Science in Child Psychotherapy (Monash) as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma. She also holds qualifications in Family Therapy and Counselling. Judy has a passion and deep concern for the increasing number of vulnerable children and young people in society and the developmental impact and implications of trauma on young lives. Whilst psychoanalytically and psychodynamically informed she primarily works within a client-centred trauma-informed framework utilising many of the advances in the growing understanding of Neuroplasticity in her work. Her main area of focus is working with young people who are distressed and struggling with issues as wide ranging as self-harming behaviours, childhood trauma, anxiety, identity and self-esteem. In addition to individual sessions, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is offered as part of the therapy process, a proven unique and powerful aid in healing and recovery. Judy also presents at schools and conferences on the Neurobiology of Trauma and how schools are in the unique position to help such children and young people.
