Located within the northern suburb of Butler the current student population stands at 771 students. We aspire to develop independent, self-motivated, life-long learners who are considerate of themselves, others and the world in which they live

The College provides a lively learning environment and a strong culture of encouragement and support to inspire and engage our students, staff and community. An place of learning for Proud, Passionate, People.

Proudly catering for children of all abilities, our learning programs focus on the individual needs of every student, as well as their social and emotional needs.

Our College promotes ‘inclusive’ work practices involving identifying, and removing barriers to the participation and achievement of all students and actively working with all stakeholders to ensure the college becomes an integral part of the community.

Our college responds to aspirations and expectations of a modern community by delivering:

• A caring and empathetic environment, where the uniqueness of each child is valued and celebrated.

Embracing diversity in our community, our college atmosphere is one where each person feels valued and has pride in themselves, their college, their family and the community.

With a commitment to creating a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment where every child matters every day, we have a strong approach to establishing and reinforcing each person’s rights and responsibilities, including high expectations for student behaviour and attitudes to learning.

• A holistic approach to learning that caters for each child’s academic, social and emotional needs.

Our learning programs focus on the individual needs of every child, encouraging and supporting each student to be an inspired and engaged learner. Providing high quality and motivating learning experiences, we recognise and understand that each of our students are unique and deserve targeted and flexible learning programs that harness their strengths, address their needs and respond to their preferred learning styles.

With our core aim being to inspire a love of learning, each child is exposed to motivating learning opportunities that foster their intellectual, social, emotional and physical development, through an environment that cultivates the creativity, capability and life skills needed for a healthy, active, optimistic and fulfilling future.

We support each child to develop the skills to handle themselves, their relationships, and their work effectively, preparing them to be an active and responsible member of their community. We adopt a child centred approach that focuses on raising the level of social and emotional competencies in each child which will provide a strong foundation for future learning.

• A stimulating and inviting hub for families and the local community, where everyone is welcome.

We believe that schools are the hubs of their neighbourhood and are supported by the communities they serve, to improve, inform, educate and motivate. We are proud to have a welcoming learning community that is founded on mutually beneficial relationships.

As state award winner of the “Our School’s a Star” competition, our staff, students, parents and local community have been recognised for their willingness to work together to contribute to our success and to help make our college such as special place. Our parents are encouraged to be true partners in their child’s education, being actively involved in college life, and experience the joy and pride in their child’s development.

Engaging with neighbouring community organisations, local businesses and other stakeholders ensures a collaborative community approach that supports a cohesive educational experience.

Our commitment to effectively communicate and engage with all members of our college community so as to inform our decisions and harness everyone’s strengths and abilities is renowned and ensures we foster a unified and inviting place of learning where openness, mutual respect and loyalty are hallmarks of our success.

• Contemporary resources and facilities.

As an Independent Public School we are privileged to be able hand pick our own staff and match each of them to the needs of our students and the community, ensuring we have a balance of experience, knowledge, skills and expertise.

The staff we recruit believe teaching is more than a job – it is a passion! Our cohesive team maintain high, but realistic, expectations of every student and ensure that we build strong and meaningful relationships with students, their families and the Butler community.

With an experienced leadership team, our staff are inspired to remain at the top of their game through professional development, mentoring and vigorous approaches to planning and leadership development.

With our beautiful coastal location, we recognise that it is essential to engage our students in the natural environment as part of a contemporary approach to learning, involving them in programs and activities that foster an understanding of sustainable living and their individual and group responsibility to our world.
