Jacaranda Caspian Stud

Caspian’s at Jacaranda is a family owned and run Caspian stud located on 40 acres At Milford which is 5 km outside of Boonah in South East Qld .

The property is named Jacaranda after the beautiful Jacaranda trees in the house paddock, the property is elevated and has stunning views to the Scenic Rim .

The family business is myself Paul Brown my 13 yr old daughter Lily and 10 yr old son Liam , both Lily and Liam are competitive show riders and attend the local pony club ,Lily competed at the 2012 Toowoomba Royal and Brisbane Royal competing in girl rider and hack classes . Liam has held Champion Boy Rider for his age at both Boonah and Kalbar shows in 2011 and 2012

The children also compete in show jumping events and campdrafts .

I have been involved with horses since i was 9 years of age and have also competed in polo and show jumping

The children’s passion in horses stems back to there early years on our cattle property Montrose Springs located outside of Warwick Qld the children would come mustering at the 3 yrs of age sitting on the pommel of the saddle between my arms, lily debuted at Brookfield show at age 5

We have for many years educated and trained horses for resale as pony club or adult riding horses .We discovered the Caspian’s quite by accident we were not intending to breed horses but the Universe sent us the Markazi Caspian stud located in Grafton, Maureen and Rob o Shea had been breeding for 15 years and had decided to sell the stud intact so we purchased 14 odd Caspian’s sight unseen no inspection in October 2010. We just went with our gut feeling that it was meant to be. We had no knowledge of the Caspian horse or its history until then.

We have now had a first crop of foals 8 in all 7 fillies and 1 colt.
We agreed with the oShea family that we would not x bred the purebred Caspian mares and keep them true and pure which we have done, But we have x breed the stallions to Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horse, Welsh, Arab and Shetlands.

Why you ask well it is too see what may be the best x for all rounder a horse that can do pony club and age shows a true allrounder

We will not know the outcome for another 2 years but the current crop of foals is very pleasing

Please understand we are horse people and have been given a huge responsibility with the Caspian’s to take them to the wider riding community and not just a few .
