J2 Build: South Coast

J2 Build South Coast was established to provide quality, sustainable housing to the NSW South Coast and an alternative building experience based on our motto ‘building the way you imagined it’.

Building is supposed to be fun- it's about your dreams for the future, a house to reflect your lifestyle and personal taste and a stage for your families memories. Our jobs are built on a relationship of trust between builder, client and architect. It’s the biggest financial decision most of us will make in our lifetime- it has to be a good relationship to be able to keep the dream alive throughout the process.

The other founding principle for J2 Build is sustainability- we build architecturally designed houses with minimal environmental footprint and low embodied energy for a new generation of conscious homeowners. Down the track that will mean a new house built with ancient techniques like straw bale or mud brick. Or a contemporary timber framed house made from locally milled sustainably forested timber fitted with all the best technology.

But we aim to start modestly in this new setting- a sustainable building might mean transforming your dated brick project home into something that can be saved from the scrap heap, re-orientating your living spaces to make the most of the sun and shade, retrofitting energy, heating and water systems or a new build with recycled timber and a careful avoidance of unethically manufactured products or toxic materials that seep into todays cheap and fast building.
