More about Inspired Learning

If you are looking for a Personal Kindy program for your 2.5-5 yr old in the Innisfail and surrounds area, please message me, Des, through my page, or call me on 0401473185.

I am a fully qualified and registered Early Childhood Teacher with 18 years teaching experience, (including Kindergarten, Prep and Years One, Two and Three).

I am offering 4 spots for children under school age Tuesday to Friday, from 8am till 4.30pm (or later), with a 6 hr min booking.

Fees - Centrelink CCR and CCB available. My service fees are subsidised the same way they are in a long daycare centre through Centrelink, but your child will be one of only 4, instead of a large group of 24. This means the program can be individualised to the needs of your child.
Younger children will be considered for inclusion in the program where appropriate.

Early Childhood Education is just that - EDUCATION.
Are your children in a loving and supportive environment, where they're happy and feel safe, supported and connected to their environment? Are they free to learn and explore the wonders of childhood? Are their likes, dislikes, fears and passions known by the educator? Do they arrive at care eager to play and learn and leave at the end of the day fulfilled?
If you answered NO to any of these questions, then ask yourself...why did I choose this particular learning environment? Was it closest? Was it cheapest? Did it look 'pretty' on the outside?

Sometimes finding the best educator for your children, can mean driving a little further, paying a little extra, or picking up a child covered in paint, or sand and smiles at the end of the day!.

The first 5 years of a child's life are the MOST important, and a Teacher who believes in YOUR CHILD can be the difference between an amazing early childhood education and an average one.

For many families, the weekly childcare bill is a big chunk of the household budget, I am no exception to this. But I do wonder - Are you happy with the service your getting for your money?

After school care - also available, (2 hr min), I will be able to drop off and pick ups in the near future.
School Holiday Program - is booked separately and dates available will be advertised at least one month before the end of term.

You can choose the hours and days you would like your child to come. 6 hour minimum.

As a qualified Early Childhood Teacher, I will be providing -
* Phonemic Awareness and Speedy Sound Pics (see Read Australia page on facebook), a proven and successful method for teaching all children to read for enjoyment by the end of year 2.
*Oral Language Program, through music and movement
*Fine motor and gross motor programs
*Cooking
*Creative expression through art and dance
*Dramatic Play
*Maths concepts
*Social Skills
***and of course PLAY experiences to enrich and enhance your child's learning and self expression.

Suggested bookings for Pre-Kindy and Kindy -
2 consectutive days at 7.5 hours (with an 8.30am start)
or
3 consectutive days at 6 hours (with an 8.30am start)
Other Options -
You are able to book your child in all day from 8am to 4.30pm (or later if needed), 1 to 4 days a week if needed, and they will participate in the Kindy program on the day/s and times they are present. For best results from the Kindy program please consider the options above.

Fees -
I can give you an estimate of your daily fee upon application if you can tell me your Centrelink percentage. Most of my families pay less than $25 for an 8 hour day. (This does vary, depending on your %).
My fee structure takes in to account my qualifications, experience and knowledge in early childhood education.
As a Family Day Care Educator, I must pay a fee to my scheme. This covers their overheads for the office, policies and support for their Educators. I pay $1 per hour per child.
As a contractor, I also do not receive holiday or sick pay.
The fee for my service is $10.50 per hour,(this includes the $1 I pay to the scheme), 6 hour min booking.
That's $10.50 per hour (full fee, before Centrelink CCB and CCR), for a fully qualified, registered and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to work within a small group setting.

I will be using the Early Years Learning Guidelines and the Qld Kindy Guidelines for planning and extending learning experiences.

Oral language is a key factor of success in the early years of schooling. From conversational concepts to phonemic awareness, phonics, reading and writing, oral language is a daily focus.

During the day, your child will have access to natural and constructed materials to experiment and work with. The students will work on developing fine motor skills, (needed for hand writing, use of multimedia technologies, etc.), gross motor skills including balance, hand/eye co-ordination, core strength, etc.

Creativity plays a large part in childhood and therefore in the education of young children. Students will be given opportunities to extend their interests in the directions it takes them. Painting, drawing, building, planting a garden, making a fort from sheets, constructing a wooden railway.

Play has become a dirty word within Primary Schools. What policy makers don't understand is that children are not all wired the same way and can't possibly learn the same things in the same way at the same rate as everyone else in the class. Many young children need time to process new information or concepts, which means time to 'play' with the ideas, make mistakes, review and try again. Sometimes it can take days, or weeks for something new to make sense to a child. Remember, in comparison to adults, kids have next to no general knowledge or experience on which to base ideas, concepts or understandings. So it can take time ... and effective guidance through teaching, encouraging and success!

There are many different theories for teaching young children, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Explicit, Play-based and so on. I base how I teach the students, on the students themselves, so in this way, I hope to give each student a pleasant, interesting and exciting learning adventure.
