More about ICU Small Animal Rugs

Hello everyone, l would like to welcome you to ICU Small Animal Rugs Facebook page.

About us: Our children are the 4th Generation in this rural area of West Gippsland. Our family for these past generations have been in farming of dairy and beef. My husband and l have been farming beef cattle on a small scale for over 20 years, along with the rearing of calves and sheep breeding. Now we are breeding Pure East Friesian and Pure Suffolk's sheep with a bit of cross breeding.

Why Our Rugs: I would like to believe that in my life span of 50 or so years, l have seen and learnt a lot of taking care of new born and mature animals. We understand that to loose any new born's animals whether you are on a large scale acreage of farming, the Stud Breeder, or a hobby farmer is not only disheartening but also costly. It causes frustration and helplessness and you question yourself on if there is a better way to help prevent such loss.

Benefits Of The Rug: To prevent or aid in the treatment of hypothermia in newborns.
Pneumonia or scours. Long births, low birth weights and multiple births are all situations where an ICU Small Animal Rug can assist with the treatment and recovery process.

The Material Of The Rug: The outer shell is a 3-layer lamented, it's waterproof, windproof and breathable. The inner layer is a double sided fabric that wicks moisture away, and is odour controlled.

The Pouch: There is a pouch on top of the rug at the back over the kidney area, between the 2 layers of fabrics. Where you can place a heat pad inside. This heat pad will give safe continuous heat up to 10-12 hours.
