iPHONE 6, 6PLUS, 6S & 6S PLUS USERS PLEASE NOTE:
Apple will always be cheaper to replace the Screens and repair parts, provided there is no other damage to the phone. The only down fall is, you have to post your phone away and wait for it to be returned. This is only good if you have a spare phone to use in the meantime.
The reason I suggest this with the iPhone 6 Models and newer is because if the home button is damaged in anyway, only apple can fix this now, due to their being a chip in the home button.
Once a non-genuine chip is put in you are no longer able to update your iOS on your phone. This can also render your phone inoperable and can cause major errors. The chip is specific to that individual phone and speaks to the motherboard, hint when it's replaced there becomes a break in communications.

APPLE INFORMATION:
Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPhone model and your AppleCare coverage.
When you request screen repair online or by phone, Apple will place an authorization on your credit card to cover the iPhone out-of-warranty cost. We’ll charge this amount if your iPhone has additional damage and is eligible for out-of-warranty service. If your iPhone has no damage other than the screen, we’ll charge the amount below.
Plus a $6.95 shipping fee. Fees are in USD and exclude local tax. Pricing applies only to screen repair by Apple. Accidental damage isn’t covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty.
