Huon Valley Little Athletics Centre

Huon Valley follows the Little Athletics Tasmania mission statement, which is:
To develop children of all abilities by promoting positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family and community involvement in athletic activities.

Huon Valley is part of Little Athletics Tasmania, which is part of an Australia wide organisation providing modified athletic track and field events for children competing in under 6 (children who have reached the age of 5 by the 30th of September in year of competition) to under 15 athletes, with events being conducted on a Saturday morning with occasional evening meet.

The motto of FAMILY, FUN & FITNESS is to the forefront when competition meetings are held. Parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents share the action. Parents are required to assist in the running of events to enable competition to run smoothly.

Each week there is a set program of events including running, jumping and throwing. As each Athlete completes an event their results are recorded and later printed on a ticket. These tickets are available the following meet from your team manager and are used to gain a variety of awards.

Where We Meet
Huon Valley Little Athletics meets at the Huonville Athletics Ground, Heron Street, Huonville. The ground is located between the cricket/football oval, and the netball courts. This is opposite the rear entrance of Woolworths in Huonville. Saturday meets start at 9 am and Wednesday night twilight's start at 5:15 pm.

Weather Cancellations
If a meet is postponed or delayed due to weather, the decision will be made by 8am. We will then advise you via our text message service and on the home page of our website as soon as possible.
