Horse Dog Holidays

“Nature’s Garden”, tucked away on a private 1 acre block in Flaxton, is the perfect holiday house for your family, horse and dog.
The house sleeps 2- 8 people, the property accommodates 4-6 horses and 4 large dogs.
The house itself is lowset, complete with four bedrooms (1 x King bed, 2 x queen beds, 2 x single beds) , two bathrooms, two separate living areas, central kitchen, laundry, patio, and tiled flooring throughout making it very dog and child friendly. There is a carport and enough room to park the boat, jet-ski, dirt bike and horse float!
Other features include a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, DVD, Free WiFi, games, books, magazines and a wood fire.

DOG OWNERS
"Nature's Garden" is a dog owner's dream........YES your dog is welcome inside the house (including the bedrooms) and YES your dog can be left unattended for a few hours while you go out for lunch or dinner!
There are two separate dog fenced areas adjacent to the house with fencing to 1.2m high. The two areas are paved, grassy and shady with plenty of space for your dog to walk around and have a sniff. If your dog is a jumper, there is a quarter acre horse paddock with fencing to 1.5m.

THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR DOG
Dog Off-Leash Areas:
Maroochy North Shore at the southern tip of Mudjimba, 30 mins from Flaxton, is arguably Sunshine Coast’s most beautiful slice of paradise for dogs. With surf beach on one side and calmer waters of the Maroochy river on the other, there’s plenty to do for all the family.

Dog On-Leash Areas:
Walk your dog along the coastal pathways from Cotton Tree to Mooloolaba then have fish & chips on Mooloolaba spit while your kids play in the park. Or there's bush walking through Mapleton State Forest or Ewen Maddock Dam which have toilet and picnic facilities and in addition Ewen Maddock has a play park and a swimming area in the dam (no dogs allowed in dam).

Dog Minding:
ABC Equine, 8 mins away, offers a dog minding service for 1-3 dogs from the same family for a max 3 days. So if you want to head off for a day or overnight and can't take your dog with you, this is a great option.

HORSE OWNERS:
"Nature's Garden" is a corner block with two street frontages, a wide driveway and ample height clearance making access in and out of the property easy for the largest of horse trucks.
Horse trucks can park in the 60m long driveway and there’s enough room to unhitch and park 2 gooseneck trailers.
There are 4 x metal horse yards - 3 yards (4.2m x 4.2m x 1.8m) and 1 stallion yard (3.9m x 3.9m x 1.6m). There is a gently sloping grassy 1/4 acre paddock fenced with post & rail and equimesh. A floodlight illuminates the yards and paddock, plus there’s a hay shed, hitching rail, wash bay, outside taps and power point.
The roads are sealed all the way from the Bruce Highway to the property so access is achievable in all weather conditions

ABC Equine Equestrian Centre is 8 mins away and has brilliant facilities:

Full care agistment (if you want to head off for a few days they will look after your horse)
Self-manage agistment (you can look after your own horse there)
Dog Minding (they offer doggy day care and over night care at very reasonable rates if you want to head off a few days and can't take your dog)

Trail Riding:
Mapleton State Forest - 5 mins away offers multiple horse friendly trails through beautiful rain forest for you and your horse.
Ewen Maddock Dam - 30 mins away has a wonderful scenic trail around the dam and through forestry
Noosa Trail Network - 45 mins away and has kilometres of tracks through beautiful forestry.
(The above trail riding tracks are also mountain bike and dog friendly).

Beach Riding
Noosa North Shore is the ultimate beach ride for you and your horse. It's 45mins to the Noosa-North Shore car ferry then 5 mins of bitumen on the other side to the beach. This is a great family day out!

ABOUT
Having experienced the difficulty of ‘what to do with the animals’ when trying to organise our own holidays, we thought it would be great if a holiday home was available that catered for family pets both great and small. We also appreciate that not all family members and friends share the same recreational activities so it was important to find a property close to both bush and beach and large enough to accommodate the boat, jet-ski, dirt bike and horse float! We also understand that work and study commitments can impose time restraints on families, so felt it was important to provide holiday accommodation for weekend getaways as well as longer stays.
With all this in mind, “Nature’s Garden”, a beautiful 1 acre property in Flaxton, was purchased in April 2015 and developed to encompass all the above. Ideally located near The Great Walk, Kondalilla Falls, Gheerulla Dirt Bike trail riding area, Mapleton State Forest Horse trails, the beaches, plus all the coffee shops and restaurants on the Range, this property became the ideal location for a holiday house. The property offers safe off-street parking for multiple trailers plus the huge dual street driveway makes vehicle and trailer access easy.
We hope “Nature’s Garden” assists families, friends and their best buddies to come together for a well-deserved break and create some beautiful memories.
