Holy Rosary's intent is to make connecting with our school more convenient. We wish our content to be more accessible and part of the way many of us communicate on a daily basis. Our school’s Facebook page allows us to be kept up to date with activities through a medium preferred and used by many.

Aim
1. To build our community by show casing our school spirit.
2. To accentuate the positives and bring to everyone’s attention the little things that makes our school community so great

- Highlight camp experiences
- Show case what the children are learning – Genius day activities, science experiments and art work

The Holy Rosary Social Media rules to live by....
The Holy Rosary Facebook page is a place where you can find out about all the latest news from our school. You will see details on upcoming events, get a glimpse into what our children are learning and celebrate our students and staff achievements.
We certainly want our parents to be commenting on and interacting with our page content please be respectful. To remain consistent with the Holy Rosary school values we kindly ask that you respect the following guidelines when participating in discussions on our Facebook page. We will moderate all comments and any comments falling outside of the discussion guidelines below are subject to not being published and/or removed.

Community spirit
We are all members of this beautiful school community. Please be respectful of the opinions of others when posting on comments. We encourage everyone to have a voice and as such opinions may differ. We simply ask to think before you post. You can be constructive without being hurtful in your comments.

SPAM
Please keep all comments relevant to the posts. Any comment that is deemed not relevant or off topic will be removed from the page.

Offensive behaviour
We will simply not tolerate posts that could offend another member of our community. To be very clear, Holy Rosary Facebook administrators will remove any posts that are deemed offensive or inappropriate including any post that refers to anything obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, humiliating, defamatory, and invasive of someone’s privacy or is otherwise objectionable. It is at the Holy Rosary Facebook administrator’s sole discretion as to what content is deemed offensive, inappropriate and objectionable. And what posts will be removed as failure to comply within these guidelines. Repeated breaches of the rules by the same Facebook account may see that user blocked and banned from our page.

Removal of content
The Holy Rosary Facebook administrators reserves the right to remove content. We are a community that prides itself on helpful dialogue. We remain tolerant of our community members opinions we also reserve the right to remove content that doesn’t reflect the standards of our community.

Profanity Filter
The Holy Rosary Facebook page is using a profanity filter. Words have been loaded into the filter and if posts appear using these words they are automatically blocked from the page. This same filtering is used by many brands and companies on their Facebook pages.

Using Real names
All users interacting with the Holy Rosary Facebook page by either liking or commenting on posts must do so using a Facebook account that clearly identifies them by their real name. Failure to do so will mean that your comments may be deleted or removed from the page

Raising Issues
The Facebook page is not the place to raise issues involving any of the students or staff performance. We would prefer to resolve issues face to face so continue to use the open door policy with Amanda rather than the Facebook page please.

Names in posts
Think before you post. You can post teacher or student names when acknowledging someone’s great work or community contribution. We wish our Facebook page to be used to build spirit, patting someone on the back publicly goes a long way to building the school we all want

How to interact with the Facebook Page
Initially users will be able to like and comment on the schools posts. But only teachers and school Facebook administrators can create posts. The author of the post will also be responsible for moderating all comments under each post.

Underage Facebook users
Holy Rosary supports and endorses the Facebook rule of no users under 13 years of age having accounts. Any users who the school suspects of being underage will be banned from commenting or liking posts.

Friending Teachers on Facebook
Our teachers operate on a code of conduct that means that must maintain a professional relationship with students and parent. For this reason and the protection of teacher’s privacy they are not allowed to “friend” students or parents on social media. Please respect their privacy
