Historic Leyburn Sprints

Leyburn Historic "Around the Houses" Sprints. Held annually in August, the Sprints commemorates the running of the first Australian Grand Prix to be held in Queensland post World War II, in September 1949. At that event, an unprecedented 30,000 spectators turned up, overwhelming the event organisers. Today, Leyburn celebrates this historic event by running a Sprint through the streets of Leyburn, featuring over 200 classic cars, and attracting 1000's of visitors to the tiny town.
