The meaning of the name HGen, we refer to it as ‘Humble Generation” We are a small family orientated business with a passion for homemade food. The main focus of HGen foods is to share and give our clients an insight to our family’s culture and the Vietnamese food culture with our Western twist. As a Vietnamese born and Australian raised my wife and I are passionate about both different food style and had an idea to bring them both together.

I, Nguyen Em HUYNH am 31 years old truck driver and along with my wife Tran Nguyen (Jessie) an Accountant, we are the face of HGen Foods. Every weekend as being family orientated culture we would have family & friends over to share stories, also to catch up over homemade dishes. This sparked an idea for us, so we asked ourselves how nice it would be if we can share our wonderful food culture with not just our family & friends but with everyone who loves food. We decided to put together a menu of all our favorites’ dishes, and dishes that represents us as a modern Vietnamese culture.

One of my best memory and experience was when my wife and I travelled to Vietnam for our honeymoon, which was my first time being back to my homeland after twenty something years. The first thing we notice was the abundance of street food vendors and a ray of variety of amazing food that was being sold at the market. The atmosphere was incredible and it was just a normal day for the locals, when we returned home we missed that incredible feeling that we had at the market. With our love for cooking and the passion of the Vietnamese culture as well our way of life here in Australia, we decided to have the best of both worlds and to share with everyone our journey.
HGen Foods has strayed from the typical Vietnamese street food, bringing a fresh and authentic interpretation of Vietnamese cuisine to the market stalls. HGen Foods has a strong family reputation for fine food with a modern take. We strived to serve well-loved dishes in an effort to provide insight to our family,
culture and heritage.

It is our intentions to bring some of the family favourite recipes and present them as street food at our market stall, with the introduction of the modern Vietnamese yellow pancake and steam rice roll.

A true labour of love, our food and beverages are hand-crafted to original recipes.Our produce is fresh and are of premium quality; our food are simple but refined.

The former is a crispy turmeric pancake, filled with beansprouts, prawns, and pork. A plate of delicate, silky rice noodles are rolled up with pork mince and cloud ear mushrooms, and topped with fried shallots. Both dishes are champions of texture and appetites, and are best dunked or drizzled with the delightful sweet yet savoury and tangy pungent fish sauce aka nuoc cham.
