History and Community

Heritage College Melbourne is an independent, Christian, Prep to Year 6, Co-Educational school in The Basin, Victoria.

Located in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs at the foot of Mount Dandenong, the College aims to "Keep God in learning while achieving educational excellence."

Our college was established in 2010, and is one
of five successful and thriving Christadelphian Heritage Colleges in Australia, including Adelaide (1996), Lake Macquarie, NSW (1997), Sydney (1998) and Perth (2006).

The Christadelphian community established these schools so children can learn in an environment that supports devotion to God and Biblical wisdom, while providing outstanding education for success in life, recognising Psalm 127:3:
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord.”

GROWTH
As our students learn and challenge themselves, growth naturally follows in their academic knowledge and abilities. This gives them a great foundation for the opportunities that will open up to them wherever they go in the future.
At Heritage College, growth also develops with each student’s appreciation and knowledge of the Bible, and seeing, recognising and valuing themselves as part of God’s creation.

CREATIVITY
Our students use their creativity to solve problems, discover new ideas, perform and express themselves.
Heritage College’s picturesque setting,
beautiful outdoor space and bright classrooms create the perfect environment for inquisitive students to use their natural curiosity and creativity to learn and explore.
Teachers encourage students to be creative in thinking, writing, speaking, art and musical performances.

COMMUNITY
Heritage College students belong! We are a supportive, enthusiastic, strong and close-knit community. Our teachers work closely with each and every student in small classes and strive to meet each child’s learning needs. Classrooms are multi-year level, helping students of different ages and abilities to develop a strong sense of community in class and out in the playground.
Teachers and families communicate frequently,
and there are many ways for families to get involved as vital members of the Heritage community.
