HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
About Henry of Henrys Mercato:

Henry came to Australia in 2008. By 2011 he completed his Degree in Commerce.

From 2008 to 2010, Henry worked as a packer for a wholesaler who supplied some of the major supermarkets with potatoes and onions. Henry can still remember when he had a wash after coming home from work that the whole bath tub was filled with mud and dirt from the potatoes and onions!

In late 2010, Henry was recruited by his brother Desi, who was then the sales manager for a fruit wholesaler. Henry initially worked as an order packer, then as a forklift driver and eventually as a sales rep where he dealt with many greengrocery retailers.

It was during that time, along with the inspiration and guidance of Desi that he developed his passion to start his own fruit and vegetable shop.

In September 2012, Bayside Fruit & Vegetable Market was opened. Since then it has been a great and exciting journey. Henry is grateful to the Frankston community for their help and support.

In 2015, he felt it was time for his shop to start a new chapter, and do the correct thing by the community to improve themselves in every way for their customers.

The humble little store was relaunched on 19th December 2015 as Henrys Bayside Mercato, with a new deli section and a much wider range of groceries.

NEW AUSSIE

One of Henry's proudest moments was recently when he became an Australian Citizen on Australia Day, 26th January 2016. Henry feels such a strong part of this country and community now, and looks forward to serving the locals for many years to come.
