More about Helping Hands - Hand, Wrist and Arm Clinic

Helping Hands – Hand Wrist, and Arm Clinic is a North Queensland, locally owned and operated multidisciplinary therapy service dedicated exclusively to hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Established in 2006 by occupational therapist Cassandra Chiesa, Helping Hands has been treating North Queenslanders with conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder for the past 10 years. In this time we have improved the lives of countless locals who have presented with various injuries and conditions to the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.

Cassandra opened Helping Hands in 2006 after becoming aware of limitations patients had seeing private therapists for upper limb injuries. At the time there was no other hand therapy clinic operating in the area, and Cassandra had to take the leap of faith that her love and passion for hand therapy would transpire into a successful upper limb clinic. Since then, we have grown our clinic to include seven therapy staff and three administration staff and have seen many thousands of patients in the community.

Experts in the Upper Limb - Hand, Wrist, Elbow and Shoulder

Our therapy staff are university trained physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are devoted to treating people with hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder conditions (also known as the upper limb). We are a great team, and the benefit is that Helping Hands can provide diverse upper limb-specific knowledge to each patient.

All therapists love building their skills knowledge, have each attained postgraduate training in upper limb management and are Members or Associates of the Australian Hand Therapy Association. Our therapists regularly attend upper limb specific conferences, workshops and courses to ensure we remain up to date with all the latest advances in hand therapy and surgery, allowing the highest level of expertise for our patients. Our staff do this with enthusiasm and verve as we are truly dedicated to learning everything we can to help our patients, using the best available practices and technologies.

We care deeply about each and every patient that walks through our doors and we are dedicated to achieving the best outcome for their injury or condition.
