Heidelberg Choral Society

The Heidelberg Choral Society (HCS) was formed in 1920.

Peter Bandy is the Artistic Director and Conductor. Peter took up his appointment in February 2011.

HCS performs classical sacred and secular choral works, as well as part songs, oratorios, operas and madrigals. Depending on music and available resources the choir sings both accompanied (piano, organ, orchestra) and unaccompanied.

We regularly perform three major concerts each year, usually scheduled for May, August and December. Professional soloists accompany the choir for most concerts.

The choir consists of soprano, alto, tenor and bass and currently has approximately 90 members.

Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at 7.30 pm, finishing at 10 pm. The venue for rehearsals is St George's Church Hall, Warncliffe Road, East Ivanhoe, 3079.
